This is a Hasegawa 1/72 Scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the Saab 35 Draken ("kite" or "dragon"), a Cold War era supersonic jet-fighter aircraft developed by Sweden. Model kit features: dedicated reconnaissance variant in service with the Danish Air Force. Kit features engraved panel lines, basic cockpit, finely molded single-piece air intakes, boxed-in wheel wells, tail bumper, tailpipe with afterburner, drop tanks, 2-piece canopy and resin parts (recon nose and wingtips. Decals for (2) Royal Danish aircraft: AR-117 of Esk 729 in 1986 and AR-109 of Esk 729 in 1987 - includes instrument panel and side console markings. Skill Level 3. 65 parts. Age 14+. Introduced in 1960, the Saab 35 Draken was designed to take on the fighter-interceptor role, as well as other air-combat roles unique to Sweden. The Saab 35 Draken features a revolutionary double-delta wing design, which gave the Saab 35 its unique shape. Although intended for high-speed interceptor role, the S aab 35 Draken proved to be a capable fighter with good instantaneous turn capability. Saab 35 Draken fighters were retired from frontline service by the Swedish Air Force, and it has been replaced by the highly advanced Saab JAS 39 Gripen.
